Behind the coffee Brazil is regarded as the largest producer of coffee in the world, and is responsible for a third of total global production. The majority of coffee farms are located in the southern region of the country where both the climate and environment lend itself to producing high quality Arabica coffee.
The name comes from the Brazilian port of Santos through which 35% of coffee beans in the world is exported. This coffee is dry-processed, meaning the beans are patio-dried while they are still in the cherry. Since the coffee is dried inside the cherry, the coffee's cup profile will be heavy in body, sweet, smooth and complex.
